Does anyone know the location of the return inline hydraulic filter on a 1976 450c crawler. The information I have indicates near the hyd. fluid tank. Its not there. I have traced the hyd. lines to the skid plate. I have yet to find it. some people say there are 2 of them. some also say under the skid plate. needing some help here guys. 77 Ford.

Repair Suction Screen. 1. Remove the three bolts and the suction tube adapter. 2. Remove suction screen, clean or replace. 3. Install NEW O-ring on the end of the suction screen and NEW packing in the groove of the tube adapter. 4. Install suction screen inside transaxle housing.
The diesel works as a cleaner. Water and the white foam will cling to the diesel. Next drain the diesel out. Install the filter or a new one, and then add in the new J20C fluid. Cleaning the filter screen is very easy. Brake cleaner for the thick stuff, then a rinse with diesel and a clean medium bristle tooth brush.

Frankly, my JD dealer is too far away, (I don't go up north in my county often)so I'm beginning to look to order over the net.

The oil filter on the 755, 855 and 955 are located on the front of the hydrostatic unit, just above the driveshaft. As jgayman also pointed out, now would be the time to remove and clean the suction screen. John Deere 1050 hydraulic filter issue. John Deere 1050, circa 1981. Purchased new from dealer. Does not have power steering. Bought loader from another dealer a year later. Currently working on a hydraulic leak on the high pressure solid line from hydraulic pump to rear manifold on transaxle. Leaking oil at banjo fitting on manifold.
